Rockit Update

Well the good news is the only thing left is the big banner on the vertical lift. The bad news is that they have 3 problems with the train. Well, I don't think there is too much of a problem. I don't even know what they are. Besides, if there is a problem, they could fix it. The people at IOACentral are, of course giving up hope. But I don't have any worry. Here is a quote from T-1Million:

Universal spends over 45 million dollars on an unthemed coaster with MP3s, LED lights on the trains and installed video cameras where they will charge you to edit and receive your experience.

Meanwhile other attractions around the resort have missing effects, prices are going up, There is an empty building begging for some sort of show or experience like Murder She Wrote was and Fear Factor Live is still somehow alive.

I am really not liking the 'new' Universal.

That guy thinks it is unthemed. I do not think that at all. I've seen Rockit in the band trip. It doesn't ruin any form of theming. I wanted to put it there for you to laugh. XD. But I have to agree with him on the Fear Factor thing:

I WANT THAT SHOW OUT OF UNIVERSAL!!!!!!! ARE YOU GONNA GET IT OUT OR WHAT?!!!!!!!!!

I still have hopes for Mamma Mia to replace that ugly show.

Back From SeaWorld

Two days ago (if you count midnight), I have returned from SeaWorld. I have ridden every B&M in Florida... even the new coaster: Manta. I loved that ride and it is my favorite in SeaWorld <3. You have your head down and face first. What I absolutely love about Manta is that it gives you the sensation of flying. It was just so awesome, I had to make up a new word for it! :) The queue had some really exemplary theming and rock work. Not only that, but the queue had an aquarium that could be seen from both the queue and the non-rider aquarium. Manta started a new generation of queues. I think Manta is worth everything SeaWorld built last year. I've gotten the Manta ride photo and Kraken ride photo. Here are the list of rides I have ridden during my trip to SeaWorld:

1. Manta (B&M Flying Coaster)
2. Kraken (B&M Floorless Coaster)
3. Stingray Underwater Viewing (Aquarium) (Manta's Other Aquarium)
4. Sea Lion & Otter Stadium (Stunt Show)
5. Manta (B&M Flying Coaster)
6. Shamu Stadium (Stunt Show)
7. Shark Encounter (Aquarium)
8. Journey to Atlantis (Water Coaster)
9. Kraken (B&M Floorless Coaster)
10. Wild Arctic (Motion Simulator)

P.S.: I did not do much today because of the rain, but my trip was worth it... so was Manta.

Volcano God Coaster

I am planning another B&M coaster. It will be a stand-up (first one in years) and it will be themed to the Volcano God, another character I made up from a film I made up. The coaster will have a launch from 0 to 60 mph in 2 seconds (first B&M to do such a thing since Hulk). It will stand 200 ft. tall. The coaster's queue, main building, station, and maintenance building blends in with the volcano part of the coaster.

Queue:

The queue will go around the volcano part of the coaster surrounded by a hallway themed to a volcano cavern. You take a view of the volcano part from big holes in certain parts of the queue. After waiting a moment, you enter a line under the final brake run. Then towards a staircase leading to the pre-show room. Queue videos recap scenes from the film and show a video with a scientist named Howard Hooky saying information on their expedition to Mt. Dynamite.

Pre-Show:

The pre-show (just like the queue) will be themed to a volcano cavern. The pre-show begins with a geographer (who is crazy) entering the room. He says, "Uh, hello. My name is, uh, Evan. I work for a geographic team searching for, uh, a volcano called, er, um, Mt. Dynamite. It is very huge, very fiery, and very dangerous. There, uh, lies the home of, er, um, the Volcano God. Professor Hooky, your tour guide, will be here any moment." His voice is quiet, "Please don't make any noise. We don't want to awaken the, uh, Volcano God. If he is awakened, he will be very deadly. So hush!" He walks to the edge of the room, and the room is dark. He then sounds very scared, "Uh, who turned off the lights?" His pocket phone rang and he answers, "Hello." The caller roars. "Um, Pr. Hooky, er, is that you?" It roars again. "Um, stop playing with me, you are freaking me out!" It roars and the phone beeps ending the call. Evan continues in a panicked voice, "Sorry about the interruption." The wall then shows the words: GET OUT! Evan then soliloquizes, "Hey it is light again. Hmmm... What is this? Get... out?" He is even more panicked. "That's probably just a salesman... Nothing to worry..." The people hear a big roar. "Ummm... is that you Pr. Hooky." They hear the phone again and Evan answers again, "Pr. Hooky?" The voice of Pr. Hooky comes from the phone, "Help me, Evan! I am at Mt. Dynamite!" "What's wrong?" "Please help! Save the tourspeople! It's..." The phone turns off. "Professor... Are you still there?" He is horrified, and turns to the riders, "Ummm... Well, Professor Hooky is telling you to get out of here. Don't know why, but you should leave..." His voice is cut off by a big, loud roar and some red lights surrounding the pre-show room turn on. That same voice who made the roar said, "YOU! So, you are the ones who are besmirching my lair! YOU!" Evan turns around in all directions, quickly and panickly. "Um, are you the..." "Yes! I am the Volcano God! How dare you befoul my volcano!" "Sorry, just doing some exploring-" "I am not to be tricked! You besmirched my volcano, and now you are using trickory on me?! HUH?!" "I am not-" "LIES! I have had enough! BY THE POWER OF ALL VOLCANOES, I WILL CURSE YOU FOR ALL ETERNITY!" "NOOOOO!" Evan dies. The Volcano God appears over the riders (in a projection screen over the pre-show room) and bellows, "As for you, poor souls, I have something else in mind. An old mine cart with no seats. I rather you die standing. To prevent any movement, harnesses will automatically come down over your shoulder once you enter the cart. The cart will enter the Volcano Death Room, where I will kill you..." He goes on with safety instructions (in disguise of wanting you dead). "...Now move it slaves!"

Station:

Once the pre-show ends, the doors open revealing the station. The station is themed to a volcano cavern. The nose car (shaped like Chang's) will be themed to a mine cart. It will be brown. The harnesses will be fiery-orange. The back rest will be brown. The track will be fiery-orange and the supports will be brown.

Ride:

Once all riders are on board, the lights are off, the doors close, and you hear the Volcano God bellowing, "You have besmirched my volcano! For that you must pay the price!" The train then moves and turns left 45 degrees leading to a 200 ft. launched lift hill (the Volcano Death Room) (first time on a stand-up). As the train ascends the hill it slows down at some point as the riders hear the Volcano God saying his curse in a projection screen over the track. As says the curse, smoke appears in front of the riders. As he concludes, the train gets launched into the smoke from 0 to 60 mph in 2 seconds out of the volcano. Exiting the volcano, the ride will pass a zero-g-roll (just after the on-ride camera) leading to a 200 ft. vertical drop (also first time on a stand-up). Exiting the vertical drop, the ride enters a cobra roll (also first time on a stand-up) standing 150 ft. tall in the lagoon, breaking Hulk's record for tallest cobra roll. The next element is a loop leading to a mist tunnel passing the vertical drop. Exiting the mist tunnel, the ride returns to land and goes through a carousel turn (surrounding the volcano) and a tunnel crashing in the volcano under the launched lift hill leading to a corkscrew once you leave the tunnel. Departing from the corkscrew, the riders enter the volcano part of the coaster. It is outdoors and has fire and smoke effects. The riders enter a tunnel (with smoke effects to the left and the right) leading to a dive loop. It turns left and heads for an oblique loop (with a fire effect in the center of the loop). The train then enters through a tunnel and heads for the block brake, then drops to another outdoor room (this time observed by riders in the queue). Exiting the drop, the riders enter a corkscrew interlocking with another. Exiting the first corkscrew, the ride turns around, nearly colliding with the queue (a fire effect to the right of the riders POV) to another corkscrew and heads for a smoke tunnel indoors, turns around (with lighting effects) and heads for a tunnel leading to a cloud of smoke. Then they enter the final brake run, turn right 180 degrees.

Post-Show:

Once the ride enters the station, you hear the Volcano God say, "You may have escaped me this time, so I will let you go. But let this be a warning to you, next time you besmirch my volcano, you... will... pay!"

Volcano Outfitters:

The exit is to the right of the station. It turns left and goes down a staircase leading to the gift shop: Volcano Outfitters. It will have t-shirts of the coaster, toys from the film, an on-ride picture, and the on-ride video (launch, bottom of vertical drop, mist tunnel, before dive loop, bottom of second drop, and final brakes). The outside entrance is to the right of the entrance.

Coming to a Close...

Rockit construction is coming to a close. The rings for the vertical lift tower have gone up yesterday. All that is left is the banner on the side of the vertical lift tower. Soon it will open. My prediction is that the banner will be up by Friday. They will finalize paint touch-ups and testing on Sunday. On Monday, it will begin soft-openings. Well, it is almost done.

Official Trip Announcement

Well, it is official. We are going on a trip this weekend. But there is a slight change in plans. Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit might not open this weekend so we aren't going to Universal. Instead, we are going to SeaWorld. I haven't been to SeaWorld since I was little. I did not ride Kraken or Manta yet. I didn't ride Kraken, because I was too small and I, of course, had that coaster phobia. I didn't ride Manta, because it wasn't open (it just opened two months ago). Now, I guarantee to you Bloggers that I will ride it. I have been on all other B&Ms in Florida: Dueling Dragons (both), Incredible Hulk Coaster, Kumba, Montu, and SheiKra. The only two left are Kraken and Manta. Once I ride them, I will have ridden all B&Ms in Florida. I was thinking of getting a ride photo from Kraken, but my dad already has one with Charles. We are definitely getting the Manta ride photo. I will also get a Manta T-shirt for high school. Best of all, that ticket will be good till the end of the year. So we are going to Busch Gardens on Thanksgiving. On my birthday, we will be going to Universal. So my time lapse:

(7/26/09) SeaWorld
(Thanksgiving) Busch Gardens Africa
(Birthday) Universal Orlando Resort

We will leave Saturday and will go to SeaWorld on Sunday.

... They're Here...

A person from Theme Park Review posted pictures today showing off (drum roll please) the rings for the lift tower put together, on site, and ready for installation! Oh my god... they are here. I can't wait. I can see the rings up by Wednesday, done in one day. I think the banner will be quick. This better be at least soft-opened by the end of the week, or the beginning of next week. They appeared July 18, 2009 backstage with the treble clef and first two block brakes in the view. So, we finally have proof of the rings on site. All we need now is to get them installed on the lift as well as the banner. We... are... SO CLOSE!

Carowinds 2010 Update

Pictures have been posted at Carowinds Connection. Construction on the rumored 2010 coaster is in full swing. Six footers are poured. The area to the right of the Picnic Pavilions has been fenced off. They have also begun digging the parking lot area. Before you know it, the red B&M will be brought to Carowinds. So they are clearing ground from the old log flume site to the South Gate. Something tells me they are getting a B&M hypercoaster. I am expecting the announcement of what will happen to occur late summer or early fall. Now don't worry, that doesn't mean the red B&M will come after. When Diamondback (a new B&M hypercoaster at Kings Island) was announced on August 6, 2008, there was already track there (was there since July 20, 2008). So expect red B&M to leave the plant later this summer.

Wait until Screamscape hears this! :)

Millenium Island Land Clearing

Recently, Millenium Island (an island near Millenium Force at Cedar Point) had some land clearing for something. I think it might be a B&M coaster. That is why I made a guess last post that the yellow B&M might be heading for Cedar Point. There might be a splash down, a cobra roll on the side of the island, and some interlocking corkscrews. I think that will be so cool.

Yellow B&M gone

The Yellow B&M I reported months ago has departed from the Ohio plant as of last week, but where is it going? All that is left is the red B&M. Some catwalk for the red B&M has come out from the Ohio plant as well and some unpainted track. Now I do not know where the yellow B&M is heading. Maybe it is for China, Cedar Point, Dorney Park, or Dubailand. Definitely not Carowinds. I'm not sure. I'm just making a guess. I still have hopes for the red B&M heading for Carowinds replacing the log flume, and that the yellow B&M will be at Dorney Park replacing Laser (which recently closed last year). :) Stay tuned!

7/13/09 Rockit News, Potter News, and Universal Trip

The new Universal brochure has come out and it says that Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit will open this month. A few days before, I heard rumors of a July 22nd opening date. I hope they are right this time. Last time they mentioned an opening date, it was July 3rd and it ended up not happening. I really hope they are right. As for the rings and the banner: I really hope they are up by the end of the week. I AM SICK OF WAITING! >:( They do realize that it takes a day to install the rings, right? The banner will be quick too. MORE NEWS: The rumored Universal trip is rumored to commence August. All depends if Rockit is open. If we go, we will ride Rockit and Dueling Dragons one last time. Screamscape reported today that Dueling Dragons may close at the end of August to become Dragon Challenge (part of the new Harry Potter island). The Flying Unicorn will become the Flying Hippogriff (as I expected). Anyways, yeah there is a huge possibility for the Universal trip. :)

P.S.: I will be going to Sawgrass Mills Mall to get that Universal brochure. I might post a picture of it tomorrow.

Universal This Summer?

There are rumors that we might be going to Universal this summer as soon as Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit opens. I just can't take waiting anymore. As of today, the only stuff Rockit needs to get installed is the rings (maybe the lift banner). A person at IOACentral said last month that there was a problem with the rings on the lift. As of yesterday, the problems seemed to have been fixed, so I am expecting the rings to go up later this week (as well as the banner, if it happens). The brackets for the rings are already up. It will not be long now. :) Anyway, yeah we might be going to Universal this summer to see Rockit and how the new Harry Potter island is doing. I really hope so. Only one time, I rode a roller coaster with music and that was Rock N' Rollercoaster at Hollywood Studios. I never got to choose music though, so this is first time. Here is how you are supposed to do it:

1. You choose the genre.
2. You choose the artist.

Hopefully, I will announce soon.

Disney Trip Day 3 (Animal Kingdom)

Day 3 (6/13/09) Animal Kingdom

Last day here in Disney. Here are some pics from the first time we went to Animal Kingdom:

DUCK! Now that is one big butt!

We are in Animal Kingdom. Note the iconic Tree of Life behind me.

That's me in the It's Tough to be a Bug waiting room. There are a plethora of bugs on me! GET THEM OFF!

The bugs were wiped off me when I rode the Kali River Rapids.

Mom took this picture. I just love the theming.

See, no more bugs!

Yet, I decided to ride it again.

I love water rides, especially river rapids.

Bats!

More bats! O_o

Well, we are on a safari tour.

Look at them.

Anandapur and I.

The Flights of Wonder show.

I had to show you this close-up. Those look like "Hidden Mickeys."

Well, well, well! Goofy! XD

"Hoo-yulp!" That's Goofy's laugh. Goofy looks like he is off on a safari. Note: This is actually a parade.

Goofy looks like he is laughing. Take note of the Disney flag on his truck.

To wrap it up: me encountering Rafiki. He is my favorite Disney character.

Tahali (that is how you say "bye" in Swahili, a person named Innocent taught me that on the way to Rafiki's Planet Watch).

I expect to put up the pictures from the Band Trip (5/8/09) here soon.

Disney Trip Day 2 (Hollywood Studios)

Day 2 (6/12/09) Disney's Hollywood Studios

Sorry for the delay, but here are the pictures from Day 2 of the Disney Trip:

Here is the Indiana Jones stunt show.

Some actors are starring as angry townspeople.

There's Indy!

Those people do not look too happy...

...and they are after Indy! He's just protecting a protecting a sweet lady (which I hope isn't a witch like the one at EPCOT? O_o)

Fight! Fight! Fight for your life! "In this game, we are all enemies!" A little something from Duncan.

Eeek! This is starting to get nasty! BTW, this is my favorite stunt show!

BOOM!

Well, that's a wrap (as they say in Hollywood). If it wasn't for that fire extinguisher guy, the whole place could have burned down.

That's me looking at some props in the backlot tour. BTW, a director has a special scene waiting for us. Hmmmm...

We are waiting (note the once iconic earful tower in the background)...

Is this the scene? Doesn't look too bad. Just rain.

Okay... now it's getting kinda dangerous. That is not a good sight!

Oh no!!!! That is NOT a good sight either!!!!

WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This director is a madman!! He wants us DEAD!!!! LOOK AT THAT!!!

He changed his mind. We're safe!!

This kind of reminds me of the Ark from "Evan Almighty."

Is that really New York in the background... or are they facades?

If you guessed facades, you are correct. BTW (third time), notice the banner above. This is the last weekend for "Star Wars Weekends."

The power rangers in front of Lights, Motors, Action Extreme Stunt Show (all the way from Paris). Didn't like LMA all that much. It was smelly... :\

Well, we went to the Beauty and the Beast stage show, which I found kinda cool. It matched the story. THE EXACT STORY! I thought this would be a regular theater (enclosed).

The grand finale!

That's me before doing the major thrills (Tower of Terror and Rock N' Rollercoaster). Note dad in the background.

Me and dad in front of "Honey, I Shrank the Kids Play Set Adventure" after closing time.

That's mom in "New York."

That's me by the subway entrance. Note: This isn't real. If you look down, you will not see a hallway leading to the station, but a concrete wall.

As they say in Hollywood: "That's a wrap!" ;)
