Chang Update #2

I received report from Theme Park Review's Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Discussion Thread that:

September 30, 2009 - The walls for the station and train shed are gone.

October 1, 2009 - Track removal for Chang has begun (the final brake run and turnaround to brake run is gone).

Also, recently in NewsPlusNotes I found this:

Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom is already in the process of removing the Chang roller coaster, which will be replaced by a large water park expansion named Bonzai Beach for 2011. When I asked Mark about Chang he had an interesting response, explaining that he was always bothered by the ride, and felt it was a glaring example of what was wrong with the previous Six Flags management. You see, the ride's name was odd and didn't exemplify what the ride did or the fun you could have on it. It was just sorta slapped down without much effort and was never really a good fit for the park. When it reopens at another park (still a mystery) in 2011 (not 2010), expect it to be a whole new experience, with a distinct theme, story, colors, etc.

More recently, there are rumors that Chang may be relocated to either Six Flags Great America, Six Flags America, or Six Flags St. Louis.

Rumors are that if it goes to Six Flags Great America, it may be turned to a floorless or sitting coaster occupying Demon becoming Diablo. The coaster may be accessed from the Southwest Territory. Now, initially, I was against this because if it was a stand-up, that would mean removing Iron Wolf. But now that the SheiKra style floorless conversion (or sitting) has been brought up, I kinda like this idea. :)

If B&M does not choose to convert it to a floorless/sitting then there is always:

Six Flags America. That sounds like a great idea considering the park has no B&Ms. Having a stand-up there will really attract people. My idea for the announcement they will make soon for SFA:

1. Relocate Chang to the park
2. Give Superman: Ride of Steel the "Bizarro Treatment" (you know, turning the ride into Bizarro like its sister in Six Flags New England and Medusa at Six Flags Great Adventure).

Six Flags St. Louis:

Scroll down.

In this page, someone thought of an idea which I find very nice. Behind Tidal Wave, there is a plethora of land big enough for a relocation space for Chang. That idea is just brilliant.

We may find out where Chang may be relocated (since track removal has begun) in a matter of days.

I still have in my head of Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom becoming Geauga Lake Kentucky Kingdom. :P
