Kris Allen: American Idol
Well, last night, it didn't go as I expected it. Kris Allen won. To be honest, I was a bit shocked. Adam was an exemplary singer. Kris kind of messed up on song choice at the end. I am shocked, and I feel bad for Adam. :( I'm happy Adam made it so far in the season. It would have been great to see him win though. But his career does not end there...

Some of the most successful American Idol graduates have been also-rans (not top place). Jennifer Hudson & Fantasia for example have strong careers. Here is a Wikipedia article that discusses this:
